Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-0 46521 was at the head of the 14:30 from Leicester North to Loughborough when it was seen coasting past Woodthorpe on Friday 10th September 2021. Although 46521 was not built until 1953 the Class of 128 machines was introduced in 1946 as the culmination of an effort to create a modern replacement for many engines of pre-grouping origin.
