Rothley Station is maintained in the condition it was during the Edwardian era, shortly after it opened. At first I questioned the validity of the bright white structure at the end of the platform. It is the bridge abutment whitewashed for safety and carries the bridge number plate. Nowadays it would probably have to be bright yellow with red stripes with large warning signs proclaiming 'Danger of Death'. Have things really progressed in almost 120 years?
