My efforts to photograph 46233 DUCHESS OF SUTHERLAND's return to service in 2017 were most disappointing. I should have anticipated tender first running on the engine and support coach transfer from Butterley to Barrow Hill but unnecessary early running with the train at Tapton Junction and Syston was the inexcusable result of bad operating practice.
