The weekend of 22nd & 23rd July 2023 was advertised by The Great Central Railway as The Quorn Wagon and Wagon Event. It was of particular interest to me as it was to feature Test Car 2, ADB975397. which was a replacement of former BR(ER) Dynamometer Car DE320041/DB999500. On Saturday 22nd July it was out and about on the railway between Loughborough and Swithland in test mode with a bogie bolster wagon hauled by 37 714 CARDIFF CANTON. There was nothing running on the main-line and the weather forecast was fairly poor; particularly in the afternoon. I managed to secure a number of photographs of the test formation as well as a record of normal services during the morning period until the diner departed from Loughborough. The weather forecast then suggested I should head home before getting soaked!
