The morning weather on Tuesday 28th August 2018 was only slightly better than the previous two days. We called at Hellifield and were pleased to find that the motive power was 45699 GALATEA. The decision to head north to the Aisgill area seemed to be sensible as the train had stopped at Appleby the previous day. Everything changed when we discovered that the train had been severely delayed after Apperley Bridge. We cut short the photography on the return run because the train was falling behind schedule and the weather was deteriorating.
