The 2022 GCR Vintage Festival began on Good Friday, 15th April with an interesting timetable involving one diesel and two steam locomotives and a three car diesel railcar. The listed steam locomotives were the railway’s BR Standard Class 5 73156 and Class 2 78018 which face in opposite directions so there would be periods of intense activity and some fairly long intervals where photography was fairly pointless. Unfortunately, or so it seemed at the time, the Standard 5 did not run and was replaced by the Modified Hall, 6990. The weather was fine and mostly bright so I enjoyed a pleasant day out with the Hasselblads.
