The weekend of 18-19 September 2021 caused me a dilemma as to where to go for my railway photography. The Cumbrian Coast Express was tempting but was steam hauled only from Carlisle to Carnforth via the coast route. As usual the locomotive remained a secret until the last minute and the weather forecast was ambiguous. After spending two days at the NEC I decided to take the easy option and go to the GCR on Saturday 18th which looked as though it would be fine all day and relatively easy with just the normal time table in operation. It also meant that I could go shopping for food before the shelves were empty!
