Friday 5th May 2017 was the first day that fitted for me to see "The Great Britain X" tour as No. 9 had failed for the first day of the tour. As I expected there was an unannounced switch of locomotive but the train ran close to the published times throughout except for skipping an expected water stop. 45699 GALATEA made some spirited running and seemed to be well up to the job. I'll give the rest of the tour a miss due to inappropriate motive power.
