I did not have long to wait for an act of total stupidity and/or incompetence to manifest itself. For the present I shall record here that BR Standard Class 4MT 2-6-4T 80080 was seen from the A6 road bridge hauling the 09:15 local passenger train from Loughborough to Rothley on Sunday 30th January 2022. There will be more comment on this later in this account.
