As usual there was no advance notice of which Carnforth pool steam locomotive would work the Cumbrian Mountain Express on Saturday 26th June 2021. Various rumours were circulating that 35018 BRITISH INDIA LINE had failed its 'fitness to run' inspection. Problems were confirmed when it had not reached Duncowfold before 6201 on the late running "Northern Belle" had passed through. Eventually we discovered that the train had departed from Carlisle 24 minutes late. MN Class 8P 4-6-2 35018 BRITISH INDIA LINE came round the corner from Howe & Co. Sidings signal box hauling "The Cumbrian Mountain Express" for The Railway Touring Company.
