I did not associate the announcement of 2890 as the summer visitor to the Great Central Railway Northern Section as the rather special locomotive that bares little resemblence to its Austerity parent. A visit was required urgently. I couldn't have chosen a better day than the 7th May 2018 with continuous sunshine throughout.

An interesting set of pictures. I did not know about this engine until a couple of weeks ago, so will have to look out for when it is running in the future.
