The weekend of 24th & 25th October 2015 saw the public opening of the Mountsorrel Railway. Saturday was very poor with prolonged rain; quite unsuitable for photography. Sunday was much better from the weather point of view but the main train service was seriously disrupted by a major problem with the "Jinty". One round trip had to be cancelled and a diesel locomotive substituted for the failed steam engine.
