On Sunday 25th October 2015 the GCR service was severely disrupted. Observing trains at Kinchley Lane, three trains were up the line between Swithland and Leicester North and nothing had worked down for at least an hour. Eventually, about 75 minutes late, Class 3F 0-6-0T 47406 struggled very slowly through the cutting from Swithland making a loud clunking noise. It later transpired that a spring on the driving axle had broken up but the loco managed to return to Loughborough, just!
