When I awoke there was a light covering of snow but it was already turning to rain. By the time I arrived at the railway it was mainly dry but with a very strong wind and occasional sleet/hail showers. Some of the afternoon light was very bright with interesting clouds and cool enough to condense the exhaust steam. Taking all into account it was a very satisfactory day.
