Sunday 6th February 2022 was another example of a typical winter day with the GCR running their low season timetable. I wondered whether they would switch the two locomotives from the previous day and that turned out to be correct. It emphasised the value of seeing the first steam hauled departure from Loughborough as that allows plans to be made about locations for the rest of the day. Showers had been forecast and that proved to be correct but all were very short except one that started just after the 15:15 from Loughborough had passed Woodthorpe. The heavy downpour with hail was a clear signal not to attempt a photograph of 46521 facing north on the 16:00 from Leicester North.
