Saturday 13th November 2021 should have been exceptionally good for main line steam with two trains working both ways over the Welsh Marches route. My main interest was to see DUCHESS OF SUTHERLAND which has only recently returned to service following overhaul. Unfortunately the discovery of a body on the line south of Ludlow caused severe delays and resulted in only one really satisfactory location for "The Welsh Marches Express". Nevertheless I had a very enjoyable day out. It has been a long time without seeing proper mail line steam action.
