With the DMU already on its way with the 12:00 from Loughborough to Leicester North I decided to remain at the Fielding Road footpath crossing. There had been extensive clearance of vegetation, mostly self-set trees, from the east side of the line and that started me speculating that this could be part of a long term plan to complete the double track between Rothley and Leicester North. Soon the DMU was approaching in the same formation as the previous day with DMCL E50266 leading TCL W59506 and DMBS M50203.
