I heard rumours that the Deltic had failed on Saturday 15th January 2022 so, when a plume of smoke appeared above Loughborough Station, I thought it might have been replaced by a steam engine. But no, it was just a Deltic doing what Deltics do and creating a pungent cloud of exhaust fumes when it headed the 12:50 from Loughborough to Rothley towards the A6 bridge, GCR No.337.
