The Railway Touring Company promoted “Cotswold Venturer” excursion on Saturday 5th March 2022 was the replacement for the train originally proposed to run two weeks earlier on Saturday 19th February. The cancellation was due to storm damage that had brought down overhead power lines and trees and caused serious flooding, particularly along the River Severn. The train was hauled by 60103 FLYING SCOTSMAN which seemed to be performing well on the two occasions that I photographed the train but, I understand, the locomotive experienced problems later on the return journey and the train was terminated prematurely at Slough.
