I travelled from Rothley to Quorn via the Swithland road bridge where the lorry and load were still receiving attention. By the time I reached Quorn 73156 had passed through with the dining car express so I headed for lunch. I realised that, by cancelling the 12:00 DMU and the 12:50 steam services, the railway could run the afternoon trains according to the timetable. This photograph shows 6990 WITHERSLACK HALL heading south towards Woodthorpe in cold autumn light with the 15:00 from Loughborough to Leicester North on Sunday 7th November 2021. The exhaust steam completely obliterated any sign of the construction site.
