Saturday 24th February 2018 looked as though it would be excellent for main-line steam in the north. GALATEA was down to work "The Cumbrian Mountain Express" from Carnforth to Farington Jn. via Carlisle and TORNADO was bringing "The North Briton" from Doncaster via Carlisle to Newcastle. GALATEA was in great form and ran very well to time whereas TORNADO was in trouble with TPWS issues and had a diesel pilot in front throughout. Sorry ER fans, enjoy the sight of a Jubilee hard at work.
