"The Royal Charter" was a rail tour promoted by the Railway Benefit Fund and operated by Saphos/LSL using BR Standard Class 7 4-6-2 70000 BRITANNIA. The train was a most appropriate contribution to the Platinum Jubilee Celebration and it wasn't painted ridiculous purple! Unfortunately the entire outward journey was marred by early running which must have been particularly difficult in West London when it reached 25 minutes. It caused me problems as outlined in the captions. One extremely positive comment was the BR style headboard carried by the locomotive without the strange SAPHOS appendage.
