On the final day of 2019 I visited the GCR expecting to see the 8F and one other steam locomotive, probably the Jinty. When the Standard 5 ran on the first train from Loughborough I was pleased and when I heared a Stanier hooter on the second train I almost didn't bother, expecting the 8F running tender first. I climbed my ladder just in case but to my surprise it was the Stanier Black 5 that emerged from Buddon Wood. It seems 45305 was undergoing a steam test following its return from Tyseley when 48305 failed; the obvious sensible decision was taken.
