The trip to photograph "The Belmond British Pullman" on Friday 28th April 2017 was spoiled by appalling road traffic conditions including closure of a section of M1, extended lane closures for so called "Smart Motorways" and numerous temporary traffic lights and diversions for casual repairs on minor roads. The planned three locations resulted in two lost opportunities but the final views on the approach to Gomshall summit were some compensation. The return journey was only slightly better than the outward one!
