When I walked to the bridge over the main-line I noticed these two freshly painted diesel locomotives wearing variations of the old BR 'large logo' livery. 66 789 was interesting but unexceptional but what on earth was the story behind 69 002. Obviously the body was from a withdrawn Class 56 so I assumed, correctly, that it had been re-engined and modernised in a similar way to the conversions from Class 47 to create Class 57. The nameplate was covered and unreadable but a quick search on the internet revealed that it was a rebuild of 56 311 and that it was to be named 'Bob Tiller CM&EE' at Waterloo Station on Saturday 10th July 2021.
