The rough ground in the lower foreground is all that remains of the iconic Upwey Wishing Well Halt that featured so often in photographs taken at the end of steam in 1967. Fifty four years later, on 9th July 2021, BR(SR) M.N. Class 8P 4-6-2 35018 BRITISH INDIA LINE was receiving some rear end assistance from the Class 47 diesel electric locomotive, 47 245, when they climbed the 1 in 50 towards the Bincombe Tunnels with RTC's "End of Southern Steam" commemorative rail-tour.
