After lunch away from the railway I returned to Woodthorpe Lane to photograph the afternoon procession of trains. I expected the first train I should see would be the diesel hauled 14:00 from Loughborough but it came as a surprise when the DMU passed with the late running 13:40. I was completely unprepared. Shortly after BR Standard Class 2MT 2-6-0 78018 returned in the other direction with the 13:35 from Leicester North.
