Saturday 8th May 2021 was a truly awful day with heavy rain throughout the morning so I never contemplated railway photography. The forecast was better for Sunday 9th, particularly in the earlier part of the day, so I ventured over to Loughborough intending to stay as long as it was fine. That turned out to be all day but it must be said that, in the afternoon, when the sky darkened the results lacked sparkle! Perhaps the most significant knowledge I gained from the visit was that the road from the A6 as far as Woodthorpe bridge, GCR No.338, has reopened and parking is feasible.
