Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 48305 was slightly late leaving Loughborough with the empty stock on Sunday 9th May 2021. As a result it was travelling significantly faster than usual as it approached the A6 road bridge. The steam leak from the driver's side cylinder would prove more problematic later in the day.
