New Year's Eve 2021 was the first date in the Festive Season that the GCR did not offer 'Winter Wonderlights'. Of greater significance to a conventional photographer was the likelihood that 73156 would be taken out of traffic for routine servicing. That gallant locomotive had reliably worked the entire programme of "Santa Express" and 'Winter Wonderlights' trains between 1st and 30th December 2021. I believe I was correct as the steam locomotive on Friday 31st December was 92214 CITY OF LEICESTER. It was a good day to be out mostly dry with some sunshine and a cheerful atmosphere among the walkers and families passing along the lanes and footpaths.
