"The Ticket to Ride" was the first opportunity to see 60163 TORNADO working a rail-tour in England since the Covid-19 restrictions began to be lifted. It was also a chance to see the Peppercorn A1 in BR Green livery for the first time in many years. Although the owners regard Apple Green as the main livery, to most of us that remember the A1s in service it is BR Green that we recall. (BR Blue also looked very smart.) The tour ran from Darlington North Road to Liverpool Lime Street, hence the train name carried on the locomotive.
