Olive Mount Junction and cutting have always been a favourite accessible location for me in the Liverpool area. The vast array of electrification equipment certainly detracts from the original view complete with the tiny signal box, but the atmosphere of the place remains. In this view a Class 397 EMU was heading 1S74, the 16:12 Liverpool Lime Street to Lancaster, service on the up line and has just passed 1F01, the 15:05 from Blackpool North, heading into Lime Street on the down line.
