I arrived at my viewpoint just before 09:20 on Sunday 10th October 2021 hoping the 3802 would be hauling the first up train of the day. When nothing had passed by 09:30 I went to check the signal which was clearly still 'on'. At 09:40 I saw steam in the distance indicating that the locomotive was backing onto the train. Shortly after the road was set and the advanced starter at Charnwood Water cleared. No progress. It was 09:52 before the tell tale smoke and steam announced the train's departure from Loughborough. It didn't matter very much - the shadow is far too strong in the cutting with bright sun behind the camera.
