"The Belmond British Pullman" on Saturday 11th December 2021 was the third main-line steam special I had planned to photograph on that day. It involved a very fraught journey from Culham to West London following an accident in Henley-on-Thames that caused a road closure and an unsignposted diversion in an unfamiliar district. The day was complicated further by another road closure in Virginia Water and a new arrangement for the train in 2021 that sees it stop in the station at Chertsey instead of the former arrangement at Addlestone Junction. The likelihood of rain was ever present but I was able to see the train at three loctions as planned and then had rain throughout my journey home. That counts as success!
