Lunch took longer than I expected so I missed the departure of the DMU on the 14:00 from Loughborough. It seemed a long wait until BR Standard Class 5MT 4-6-0 73156 left Loughborough at 15:00 with the last up daylight departure to Leicester North on Tuesday 28th December 2021. The light was poor but the exhaust obliterated all signs of the construction work.
