At first sight the load behind BR(WR) Castle Class 7P 4-6-0 5043 EARL OF MOUNT EDGCUMBE on Friday 24th February 2023 did not seem very large. However six coaches, the modified GUV water carrier and a dead Class 47 diesel locomotive must have amounted to about 400 tons. It caused no problems for the locomotive which apparently accelerated the load to the sustained 75 mph speed limit.
