My visit to the GCR on Saturday 22nd June 2019 was rather disappointing due to progressive late running that seemed to stem from the first DALEX run early in the day. Even the diner was disrupted as the locomotive for the 12:50 departure had not returned to Loughborough by the time the 13:00 was ready to leave. Problems continued through the afternoon with locomotives taking on water when that should not have been necessary and lineside fires undoubtedly did not help the situation either.
