With Buddon Wood in the background the 12:50 from Loughborough to Leicester North was seen approaching Rushey Lane bridge, GCR No.345, on Sunday 9th January 2022. I have been asked why I refer to this bridge as Rushey Lane. The old farmer, David, is adamant that this is correct for the period of steam hauled trains. He also says that it was known in pre-preservation days as rabbit bridge but I guess that would be too much for current enthusiasts. Rushey Lane used to be continuous from the Woodhouse -Swithland road all the way to Wood Lane, Mountsorrel, where just a short stub still remains.
