Travelling north on the A1 revealed steam blowing from the safety valves of 6233 which was stationary in Carlton Loop taking water from a road tanker. By the time I had set up a camera the watering crew had completed their task and were rolling up the hoses. It was interesting to look closely at the locomotive that was blowing off at the safety valves and had a slow but steady flow of steam emerging from the drains to make certain that the cylinders were hot when departure was signalled. I was pleased to see the decorated “Royal Scot” train headboard as well as that of Railway Touring Company on the front of the locomotive.
