I hoped that the weather in the East Midlands might have improved by 10 or 11 o'clock on Sunday 16th February 2020 with the passing of Storm Dennis. I was out of luck but really wanted some shots of the North Eastern auto-car operating on the Great Central Railway. Just after 12 o'clock I decided to give it a go and left for Quorn. It was still raining but not as hard as earlier in the day. By just after the 14:00 departed from Loughborough blue sky appeared and my venture turned out to be most enjoyable. The weather had been so bad that the line was closed south of Rothley and top and tail operation was in force for many services.
