On Saturday 22nd January 2022 Midland Pullman promoted a train that ran almost the length of England from Eastleigh in the South to Carlisle in the North West. On Friday, when doing a final check on times, I discovered a reported change of power cars from the customary 43 046 + 43 055 to 43 047 + 43 049. I feared that these may not be finished in the fully detailed Nanking blue and white livery that would spoil the appearance of the train. While I could not get an angle to read the car numbers, the train appeared just as before, superb.
