Attached to the rear of the "Santa Express" coaching stock on Sunday 5th December 2021 was English Electric Type 3 Co-Co diesel electric 37 714. This would seem to establish the likely train formations for the pre-Christmas programme; steam at the south end of the "Santa Express" with a diesel at the north end and a steam hauled dining train at the weekends. I should not like to speculate about which direction the steam locomotives will face.
