The hidden locomotive was revealed when the 11:00 from Quorn to Leicester North reached Quorn Signal Box. Apparently there had been trouble with the brakes on Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 48305 on Saturday 5th June and the Loughborough fitters did not have sufficient time to complete repairs before its original booked departure time. By running out at the rear of this train it was in position to take its booked return from Leicester North at 11:38.
