Saturday 23rd November 2019 was the first day of the 2019 Season of Santa Specials on the GCR. The weather forecasts for the Welsh Marches region, where I had hoped to vist, were significantly worse than those for Loughborough and the GCR. The decision was a 'no-brainer' to coin a phrase. It also provided me with the opportunity to see just how awful the train looked carrying the lighting arrangements for the "Winter Wonderlights" services. I hope the railway makes money from this venture - it will not please the enthusiasts!
