On the morning of Sunday 19th December 2021 I went first to the Fielding Road public footpath crossing to determine which diesel locomotive was working the "Santa Express" trains. Before I could see I knew from the sound that it was English Electric Type 1 Bo-Bo D8098. It is my least favourite diesel based at the GCR but I readily admit that it is one of the most useful and successful members of the fleet.
