"The Peaks Express" on Sunday 24th October 2021 was a very tempting train to go out to photograph despite a rather poor weather forecast. The train combined two classic routes of the eighties and nineties into one that traversed the Hope Valley line in both directions and used the Sheffield-Derby former test route to turn the complete train. The motive power remained unannounced but a Jubilee, and probably GALATEA, was my guess. Surely the transformation into SIERRA LEONE would be complete by now for there can be no justification for it not to be except stubborn awkwardness on the part of the owner. Basically everything went to plan and the locomotive performed well. There were some pathing issues that were not the fault of the steam locomotive but nothing serious and there was good camaraderie among the enthusiasts at the lineside.
