The weather forecast for the second day of the GCR 'East Coast Main Line' event was much better than that for the first day and this certainly proved to be correct for the morning period. However as soon as the diner had passed through Rushey Fields it began to rain. Not very hard it must be said but I headed immediately for lunch and it was still raining, just, when I walked to the old Woodthorpe Lane bridge. The afternoon was dull, dingy and only near four o'clock did bright sky appear in the west to give a little light on the double header. Many of the photographers that had not ventured out on Saturday must have been disappointed on Sunday, but as one said to me, it is January and just what is expected.
